Common Samsung problems

Appliance Problem Likely cause
Refrigerator Ice maker stops or ice is stuck Frost buildup, defrost heater, fan, ice maker assembly
Refrigerator Fridge section warm Evaporator fan, defrost system, sensor, board
Refrigerator Water leak Defrost drain, water line, filter
Washer UE or uE code Unbalanced load or sensor, see washer not spinning
Washer 5C, SC or 5E code Drain pump or clog, see washer not draining
Washer LC or 4C code Water leak or supply problem
Washer dC or dE code Door lock or door switch
Dryer HC or HE code, no heat Heating element, thermal fuse, vent, see dryer not heating
Dishwasher Not draining, leaks Pump, filter, door seal, see dishwasher not draining
Range or oven Not heating, display fault Element, igniter, sensor, board

Codes help, but a code points to an area, not a part. We test before we replace.

Samsung notes by appliance

Refrigerators. Many Samsung french door models have an ice maker in the freezer door or the fresh food section. A frozen fill tube or frost on the evaporator is a common reason ice stops. A one off thaw can help, but a repeat problem is usually a failed defrost heater or sensor. See ice maker repair and refrigerator not cooling.

Washers. Front loaders are sensitive to load balance and level. A UE code with an even load may mean a worn shock absorber, a loose suspension or a bad sensor. Drain codes are often a clogged pump filter, behind a small panel at the front bottom.

Dryers. Heat problems are mostly the thermal fuse, the thermistor or the element, and a blocked vent is the usual root cause. A vent clean often goes together with the repair.

Boards and parts. Samsung controls are more integrated than older brands. If a board is bad, we quote the board and compare it to the age of the machine before you decide.

What the technician does

  1. Reads the model, error code and history.
  2. Tests the suspected part with a meter, not by swapping parts.
  3. Gives a price before work starts.
  4. Repairs, tests the full cycle, and explains what failed.

What it costs

Fault Typical total with part
Diagnostic $60 flat, credited toward the repair
Drain pump, door lock, switch $150 to $320
Heating element, thermal fuse $130 to $300
Ice maker, defrost heater, fan $180 to $420
Main control board $250 to $550

Prices are market benchmarks, confirmed at the visit.

Repair or replace

Use the 50 percent rule: if the quote is more than half the price of a new similar model, compare carefully. Typical lifespans are 10 to 13 years for washers and dryers, and 13 to 17 for refrigerators. Under warranty, contact Samsung first. See the cost guide.

How it works

  1. Call or send the model number, the code and the symptom.
  2. Call to check the next open appointment; availability depends on the schedule.
  3. Diagnosis and a clear price. The $60 is credited if you go ahead.
  4. Repair and test. Ask what the repair includes when you book.

By appliance: refrigerator, washer, dryer, dishwasher, oven. Other makes: all brands. We serve Philadelphia, Northeast Philadelphia, Bensalem, Willow Grove, Abington, Huntingdon Valley, Southampton and Feasterville-Trevose.

FAQ

Do you repair Samsung refrigerators with ice maker problems?

Yes. Ice maker faults are one of the most common Samsung calls.

What does UE mean on a Samsung washer?

An unbalanced load. Redistribute the clothes. If it repeats, the suspension or a sensor may need service.

Are you a Samsung authorized service center?

No. We are an independent repair company.

Is it worth repairing a Samsung appliance?

Often yes if it is under about 10 years old and the repair is under half the price of a new one.

How much does a Samsung repair cost?

Most repairs are $130 to $420. A board costs more. The $60 diagnostic is credited toward the repair.
